Day 7 – Album Recorrding Session

Friday kicked off with Peter and Ben playing a couple of very competitive games of pool while I cooked up a big breakfast using so eggs that I robbed from a clucking hen!

We hit the studio at 10.30 and Peter went into the recording booth to lay down the lead guitar on Something I Don’t Know. Ben then recorded keys before we headed for lunch.

After lunch Ben sat back down at the piano and recorded what is currently being called Roses In The Spring Time. This took a long time as it is a new song that we are writing as we go along. It’s also quite a long track!

Peter then recorded the electric guitar parts. At this point the two boys were very proud of their achievements and we starting to pack up when I broke the bad news…

I wanted the guitar and piano on Water’s Edge finished before the weekend! The guys were taken aback, but in the end they dug in and managed 3 tracks in one day.

I sent them home on the 10pm bus, tired and almost broken, they’d have a few days off before I’d get them back in to start vocals.
